48 Hours in Tel Aviv, How to Spend a Weekend Like a Local

Aug 26, 2025 | Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is a city that never rests, and even with only two days, you can enjoy a taste of its energy. A weekend in Tel Aviv means balancing its beaches, culinary scene, history, and nightlife, all while soaking up the laid-back vibe that locals love.

Day 1 Morning

Start with a stroll through Carmel Market. The smells of spices, fresh pita, and seasonal produce set the tone for your trip. From there, wander along Rothschild Boulevard to see iconic Bauhaus architecture and stop for a coffee at one of the city’s many sidewalk cafes.

Day 1 Afternoon

Head to Gordon Beach for a swim or simply relax under the sun. Nearby beach bars offer cold drinks and light snacks. If you prefer culture, visit the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, home to modern Israeli and international collections.

Day 1 Night

Tel Aviv’s nightlife is famous worldwide. Begin with dinner in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood, where narrow streets are filled with restaurants serving everything from Middle Eastern dishes to contemporary cuisine. Continue to Florentin for trendy bars or the city’s clubs if you want to dance until morning.

Day 2 Morning

Take a bike ride along the seaside promenade to Jaffa. Explore the ancient port, walk through flea markets, and enjoy authentic Arab-Israeli cuisine. Jaffa’s Old City is full of art galleries and historic landmarks that contrast beautifully with Tel Aviv’s modern edge.

Day 2 Afternoon

Spend your last afternoon at Hilton Beach, popular with both surfers and locals. Alternatively, explore Sarona Market, where gourmet food stalls and boutique shops give you one last taste of Tel Aviv’s culinary diversity.

Two days in Tel Aviv is enough to understand why it is often called “the city that never sleeps.” From food and art to beaches and nightlife, the city offers a perfect balance of energy and relaxation.
