European aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus announced today (December 8, 2025) the completion of a deal with Spirit AeroSystems to acquire commercial aircraft manufacturing plants. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
“This milestone marks a special moment for all of us at Airbus. We are proud to welcome over 4,000 new colleagues, with whom we will embark on a new chapter in our industrial operations by taking on activities of critical importance to our commercial aircraft programmes,” commented Florent Massou, Executive Vice President Operations for the Commercial Aircraft business of Airbus.

Photo: AIRBUSThe airline will now own several aerospace factories, including Kinston in North Carolina, USA (a factory for A350 fuselage parts), which will now be called “Airbus Aerosystems” Kinston. The site in Saint-Nazaire, France, which produces parts for the A350, will now be called “Airbus Atlantic Cadréan.”
The Casablanca, Morocco site that produces A321 and A220 components joins as “Airbus Atlantic Maroc Aero” and the A220 wing and main fuselage production site in Belfast, Northern Ireland, will become “Airbus Belfast”. Other plants will also join the company across Europe and the United States and become part of the European manufacturing giant.
